Over the past few days, I have been listening to different recordings of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto, trying to get ideas of what I think sounds best and how I want to play it. I decided that my favorite violinist for this concerto is Heifetz. I have listened to it so many times, but I am still amazed at how perfect and easy it sounds when he plays it. It is a good motivation for me to practice. I sometimes get frustrated at how it can be so hard to play it and never sounds anywhere near perfect, but I really do love it. I sometimes forget that when I don't spend enough time doing it. I also go back and forth, preferring violin or piano more, depending on which I am less dissatisfied with. Mostly, though, I just really love them both and I love to play them.

If you want to see Heifetz playing the Tchaikovsky, click here. I have mostly only listened to performances instead of watching them, but I really liked this one. If you ever happen to hear me play it, please forget that you ever heard Heifetz play it, as it will not sound nearly the same even when I have learned it all the way.

I hope I DO get to hear you play it sometime! :) I was the same way going between flute and piano. But, yes, I just love both! Isn't it great that we don't have to really choose between them? I'm going to have to watch that video now....

P.S. How are you doing?

Haha. Yeah right Kristen. I always have these problems as well. Professionals have the tendency to do that I guess. I still think you are really good, especially with fast notes like this. I on the other hand, have major issues...
